An-Najah and EducAid Organize a Workshop Titled: “Education and Employment for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities: The Gap between Law and Practice”
As part of the " Nothing About Us Without Us" Project, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation AICS Gerusalemme, An-Najah National University in cooperation with EducAid Palestine, organized a workshop titled: “Education and Employment for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities: The Gap between Law and Practice” On Tuesday Januray18, 2022.
EducAid Palestine is an Italian NGO that works in the field of social innovation and educational cooperation, to foster the respect for human rights especially the rights of persons with disabilities.
The workshop aimed at discussing the results of an editorial research, supervised by An-Najah National University, EducAid, and a group of people with disabilities in the North region as key participants in the research.
For advancement of rights and status of persons with intellectual disabilities, the research studies employment and education challenges facing persons with intellectual and mental disabilities in the northern region with the aim of identifying the gap between law and practice.
The workshop included a discussion about the development of a national strategic plan related to persons with impairments in order to improve their reality and how to involve them in the development process of the strategic plan.
The event was attended by institutions for persons with disabilities to inform them about the research and its results.
