An-Najah and United Motor Trade Sign an MOU
On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, An-Najah National University represented by Prof. Maher Natsheh, President of the University, signed an MOU with the United Motor Trade (UMT), the exclusive agent for Volkswagen in Palestine, represented by Mr. Sameh Al-Masri, Director of UMT, with the aim of improving engineering education in the automotive sector through introducing modern teaching methods and technologies.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdel Nasser Zaid, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sami Arandy, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Dr. Mahmoud Assad, Head of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Departments, and Mr. Khaled Al-Hussani, Director of Public Relations Department at An-Najah as well as a number of representatives from UMT.
The MOU aims at strengthening partnership between higher education institutions and the private-sector to prepare University graduates to compete in the job market and ensure that they have the skills and knowledge demanded by employers at the labour market.
Prof. Natsheh commended the UMT's vital role in supporting An-Najah University to achieve its vision of being a leading university in Palestine through the pursuit of excellence in teaching and research.
He also thanked the UMT's delegates for their generous gift of two modern cars to the University's Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. These two cars will be used for educational and training purposes at the Faculty of Engineering. "This would be the cornerstone of establishing an educational and research laboratory for modern automotive Technology at the faculty." Prof. Natsheh said.
Mr. Al-Masri in turn expressed his delight for being at An-Najah and stressed the importance of the cooperation between both parties. Moreover, the visitors were quite impressed with the academic and research achievements of the University.
