IEEE Concludes First Stage of Web Heroes Project
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Najah Student Branch concluded the training stage of Web Heroes Project that lasted for weeks and aimed to teach students web designing using Word Press. The project is executed in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education.
The project assisted school students from eighth to tenth grades, of both genders, and included 23 schools from Nablus governorate. The training was given by a group of IEEE members and included more than 100 male and female students from different Nabulsi schools.
It is worth mentioning that the second stage of the project (challenge stage) will begin with organizing a large scale competition among participating students to see their creative designing work.
On this occasion, Dr. Mona Demaidi, IEEE Supervisor mentioned that this initiative aims to strengthen the relation between university and school communities and prepare school students to university life and enhance their practical computer skills. She added that the project falls within IEEE social responsibility.
