An-Najah's Department of Political Science Organizes a Study Day about the Palestinian Elections
The Department of Political Sciences at An-Najah University in collaboration with Seeds for Development and Culture and Masarat Center recently organized a study day on the Palestinian elections.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the upcoming elections and creating a preliminary vision of the real election process. The day was attended by number of politicians, experts, staff and students attended.
The study day included three sessions on the necessity of holding elections, its challenges, and the impact of elections on the political system. The sessions also discussed whether the elections should be held before the end of the internal division or would they be a mean to end it.
The day resulted in a number of recommendations most important are the inclusion of Jerusalem in the electoral process, maintaining integrity and transparency during the electoral process and initiating a national dialogue that allows for peaceful resolution of conflict.
