The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Students Branch at ‎An-Najah University hosted Dr. Imad Al-Qadi, Professor of Engineering ‎at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Founder and Director ‎of the Illinois Center for Transportation, and Director of the Advanced ‎Transportation Research and Engineering Laboratory. ‎


Prof. Al-Qadi was invited by An-Najah University to share his rich ‎experience with An-Najah's Faculty of Engineering and Information ‎Technology staff and students. He met with Prof. Maher Natsheh, An-‎Najah President with the attendance of Dr. Ali Abdelhamid, Dean of the ‎Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, and Dr. Sameer ‎Abu-Eisheh, Supervisor of the American Society of Civil Engineers ‎‎(ASCE) - Students Branch at the University. ‎

For his part, Prof. Natsheh thanked the guest for his visit and briefed him ‎on An-Najah's history, programs, faculties and achievements. He pointed ‎out that An-Najah University aims to provide the Palestinian community ‎with well-qualified graduates in the field of transportation through ‎building and developing collaboration between the University and ‎municipalities, relevant ministries, private, and public companies as well ‎as different sectors in Palestine. ‎

Prof. Al-Qadi gave a lecture on the Future of mobility and impact of ‎autonomous and connected vehicles on roads, environment, and society ‎with the attendance of Dr. Abdelhamid, and Dr. Abu-Eisheh as well as a ‎number of the Faculty of Engineering's academic and administrative staff. ‎

The lecture covered several ‎topics most important of which are the status ‎and future of autonomous and connected vehicles, truck platooning, 3D ‎mobility, and Hyperloop.‎
