An-Najah Hosts the World Renowned Expert in the Field of Transportation Prof. Imad Al-Qadi
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Students Branch at An-Najah University hosted Dr. Imad Al-Qadi, Professor of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Founder and Director of the Illinois Center for Transportation, and Director of the Advanced Transportation Research and Engineering Laboratory.
Prof. Al-Qadi was invited by An-Najah University to share his rich experience with An-Najah's Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology staff and students. He met with Prof. Maher Natsheh, An-Najah President with the attendance of Dr. Ali Abdelhamid, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, and Dr. Sameer Abu-Eisheh, Supervisor of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Students Branch at the University.
For his part, Prof. Natsheh thanked the guest for his visit and briefed him on An-Najah's history, programs, faculties and achievements. He pointed out that An-Najah University aims to provide the Palestinian community with well-qualified graduates in the field of transportation through building and developing collaboration between the University and municipalities, relevant ministries, private, and public companies as well as different sectors in Palestine.
Prof. Al-Qadi gave a lecture on the Future of mobility and impact of autonomous and connected vehicles on roads, environment, and society with the attendance of Dr. Abdelhamid, and Dr. Abu-Eisheh as well as a number of the Faculty of Engineering's academic and administrative staff.
The lecture covered several topics most important of which are the status and future of autonomous and connected vehicles, truck platooning, 3D mobility, and Hyperloop.
