On Saturday, December 1, 2018, the Faculty of Educational Science and Teacher Training at An-Najah held the "Qualitative Research and Writing for Publication" workshop, which was organized in cooperation with Coventry University, sponsored by Zamala Fellowship Programme and managed by the Welfare Association (Taawon).

The workshop was over three days and was given to a group of faculty members and Master's students.


The workshop hosted Professor Katherine Winpenny, Director of the Centre for Global Learning: Education and Attainment, Coventry University and was also attended by Dr. Sa'eda Affouneh, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Science and Teacher Training and a group of An-Najah's academic and administrative staff.

Dr. Affouneh welcomed the attendees and said that the workshop aims to develop research skills for the participants as it is part of An-Najah strategy; that is, enhancing scientific research and creating academic relations with international universities.

Prof. Winpenny gave a brief about Coventry University and talked about its top research topics. She mentioned that the University was ranked 12 among top British universities and top emerging university in the U.K for the year 2018.

The first day meeting mainly shed light on qualitative research characteristics and strategies compared to quantitative research.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Winpenny answered the attendees' questions and discussed initial research ideas to be developed over the workshop days.
