Hosting a Conference on An-Najah's Journey from Past to Present

On Sunday, September 30, 2018, and under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Professor Rami Hamdallah, An-Najah National University hosted a conference on An-Najah's Journey from Past to Present.
The event was part of An-Najah Centenary Festival and took place at the Zafer Al-Masri Theatre in the Old Campus.
The conference was attended by Prof. Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah, An-Najah's vice presidents and assistants, faculty deans, heads of departments and a number of academic and administrative staff and students.
The conference included three sessions. The first session shed light on establishing an education endowment foundation at An-Najah, women's role in An-Najah's journey, An-Najah's libraries, An-Najah's role in serving the community, history and development of the Deanship of Students Affairs and An-Najah National University Hospital.
The second session talked about An-Najah School, integration of students with special needs in the academic life, An-Najah cooperation with the Palestinian police to serve the local community, An-Najah's foundation and the struggle to survive, the development of Tourism and Archeology Department and students' academic trends.
The third session was concluded with a discussion on literature and the role of An-Najah to promote the Palestinian culture.
The conference resulted in a number of recommendations, most important of which are establishing a periodical archiving unit to document the University history, reinforcing women's role in developing An-Najah, re-opening of An-Najah School and strengthening the cooperation with the local community.
