On Tuesday, March 27th, 2018, An-Najah National University hosted Ms. Rana Askoul, Development Executive, Gender Equality Expert and founder of Changing Pink in a training workshop on feminist leadership.


The workshop was attended by a number of An-Najah's female staff and was held at the Faculty of Science conference room in the New Campus.

The workshop included three main themes. The first theme included an introduction to leadership models of Arab women, reasons behind the success of Arab women as leaders, the factors that contribute to this success and the characteristics women must have for a successful leader as well as the community values regarding women's leadership.

The second theme was about whether there is a difference between men and women leadership and the reasons behind this difference.

The third theme tackled models of social interactions and the models of women as individuals and how women classify other people.

The workshop also included presentations on success stories of Arab women leaders.

With over 15 years of experience in public, private and non-governmental sectors, Ms. Askoul's track record and expertise lies in applying her strategic and thought leadership into the design, management and delivery of development programmes and interventions across sectors. She brings in outstanding senior stakeholder management and engagement capabilities coupled with team advocacy skills. 

In 2012, she founded Changing Pink. She partners with public, private and non-governmental institutions to provide advisory, consulting and capacity development services to eliminate gender inequalities between men and women in the MENA region.
