On Sunday, September 25th, 2016, Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah received at his office a delegation from Stavanger University in Norway headed by Ms Anndi Jacobsen, Former President of Nablus Society in Stavanger, Norway.


The delegation included professors from Stavanger University and was accompanied with Architect Naseer Arafat, Director of the Civil Society Commission.

The meeting aimed at discussing means of cooperation and academic, cultural and professional exchange between An-Najah and Stavanger in terms of fine arts, education and humanities. It also aimed at expanding mobility cooperation in other fields.

Prof. Natsheh welcomed the delegation and briefed them on An-Najah history, academic programmes and student s and talked about higher education in Palestine in general.

He thanked the delegation for keeping in touch with the university and commended the Norwegian Friendship Association's role in supporting An-Najah on different levels.

 

Ms Jackson expressed her delight for being at An-Najah again and wished that the visit would result in new academic cooperation in different educational areas.

The delegation also met with Dr. Alia Assali, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training and Dr. Abdul Khaliq Issa, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities to discuss further means of academic cooperation.

It is worth mentioning that the Director of the International Relations at the Faculty of Education in Stavanger attended the meeting to discuss joint projects to reinforce academic exchange through E+ as the university implemented 2 E+ projects so far dispatching An-Najah candidates to Stavanger.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Majdi Dweikat, Academic Vice President Assistant; Dr. Rasha Khayyat, Director of the Scholarships Office; Dr. Mona Sha’th, Lecturer at the Faculty Educational Sciences and Teacher Training; Mr. Mousa Abu Dayyeh, Dean of Students’ Affairs and Mr. Khaled Mufleh, Acting Director of the Public Relations Department at An-Najah.

The delegation is preparing for a series of workshops on drama as a teaching method.
