Dr. Assali met with the Mayoress of Boulder as she commended the municipality’s role in supporting the Palestinian people in general and Nablus city in particular. She also talked about the proposed joint project between Boulder and Nablus and discussed possible means of mutual cooperation between An-Najah and different universities in Boulder. Then, she briefed the attendees on An-Najah’s history, faculties, academic programmes and international accreditations.

Dr. Al-Assali and the American Fulbright specialist, Dr. Debra Young from the University of Nairobi participated in a three-hour lecture on history of education in Palestine and the Palestinian curricular in various academic institutions.

In her turn, Dr. Young presented on An-Najah Child Institute’s units and programmes as she was a member there during her visit to An-Najah.

In the same context, both Drs participated in a lecture on environmental education and its adoption in the Palestinian curricular.

The discussion also shed light on the problems that encounter the Palestinian environment as Dr. Al-Assali tackled the issues of water, olive trees and the political and social reasons that lead to green lands dwindling.

Dr. Assali also visited the Watson* University where she met with the university’s president and vice president and was introduced to its history, programmes and achievements. She further discussed possible means of mutual cooperation between both the Watson and An-Najah.
