On Sunday, April 3rd, 2016, Mr. Mohammad Al-Aaidi, Director- General of the Yabous Museum in cooperation with the Archeology and Tourism Department at An-Najah inaugurated the activities of the Palestinian Heritage Week at the Zafer Al-Masri Auditorium in the Old Campus.


The event aimed at accomplishing the museum's main objective which is gaining the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNISCO) recognition as the first international youth museum. It also aimed at exhibiting Palestinian heritage through various cultural activities which it holds locally and internationally.

On the first day, the museum along with An-Najah held the April's Heritage Cultural Festival titled: "An Old Story" which included a comedic performance, poetry readings and recitation of national songs.

At the end of the festival, participating bands and supporting institutions were awarded certificates by Mr. Al-Aaidi and Student Moumen Shobaki, Yabous Coordinator at An-Najah.

The second day included the "what you know about Palestine" competition while the third included holding the Palestinian Heritage Exhibition.

 The exhibition ceremony started with a performance carried out by the Military Band of the Palestinian National Security Forces (NSF).

Yabous Museum was established in 2009 and is supervised by the Archeology and Tourism Department at An-Najah. The museum consists of a number of the university deans, staff members and students.

  • The exhibition ceremony was also attended by Dr. Amer Qubbaj, Head of the History and Archeology and Tourism Department; Mr. Moussa Abu Dayeh, Dean of Students' Affairs; Mr. Khaled Mufleh, Acting Director of the Public Relations Department at An-Najah in addition to other prominent national figures.
  • The exhibition will be over five days from April 3rd-7th, 2016.
