Anatomy & Histology Lab
The experimental trainings are performed in this laboratory in order to ‎teach students on the structural composition of animal  body .  (the study of ‎the structure and organization of living organisms and the structure of ‎different organs). Furthermore,  practical trainings are performed on how  to ‎take samples from the body of animals (Biopsy or Necropsy) and to teach ‎students how to prepare sliced tissue by the use of modern devices (Tissue ‎processor & Microtome) according to scientific methods, then examining ‎slides under microscopes, to see the histological structure of the different ‎body organs as well as the diagnosis of affected organs histologically. This ‎lab.  also could be used for the application of experiments and practical ‎training for other courses.
Among the devices, available in this laboratory are the following:

  • ‎Tissue processor
  • ‎Microtome
  • ‎Oven
  • ‎Light Microscopes
  • ‎Animals Skeletons.‎

Pharmacology & Toxicology Lab
In this laboratory, the performance of experiments and practical exercises ‎that show the extent of the influence of medicine and its dose on laboratory ‎animals (rabbits, mice, --- etc) are done, as well as the teaching of students ‎about drug formulation in its different  forms , plus others.  Furthermore, in ‎this laboratory, experimentation and practical exercises are also conducted ‎on practical chemistry of its different kinds; such as general chemistry, ‎analytical and organic and biochemistry, due to readiness of this laboratory ‎in tools and chemicals and extensions of water and gas --- etc. ‎
Among the devices, available in this laboratory are the following:

  • ‎Electronic Balances
  • ‎PH Meters
  • ‎Magnati stirrer& Hotplates
  • ‎Memmert Shaking Water Bath,WB 14‎
  • ‎Distillator, Bibby, D4000, Distinction, water still.

Feed Analysis & Milk Hygiene Lab
Experiments & practical training for students are conducted in this laboratory ‎on the methods used to estimate the proportion (%) of protein, fat , fiber ‎and calories in samples of feed and food, and that is done by using devices ‎with high-tech and sophisticated , as well as performing the experiments ‎and the process that is used to estimate (test) the milk hygiene from the ‎physical , chemical and microbiological aspects. In addition, it can be used ‎for performing experiments and practical exercises concerning tests of soil ‎and irrigation, due to the readiness of the laboratory of tools, equipment ‎and materials.‎
Among the devices, available in this laboratory are the following:

  • ‎Flame Photometer 410,sherwood.‎
  • ‎Ankom 200 fiber analyser A200.
  • ‎Ankom Extractor, XT 10 I.‎
  • ‎Kjeldahl  distillation  & Digestion system.
  • ‎Calorimeter C 200.‎
  • ‎Conductivity Meter.‎
  • ‎Daisy II Incubator, Ankom technology.
  • ‎Lactometers & Hydrometers.‎

Parasitology Lab
Experimentation and practical  training is done in this laboratory on finding ‎out & examining  the internal parasites (which parasitize within the body of ‎the organism like worms in its different kinds.) and external parasites (which ‎parasitize on the body of the organism from the outside, such as ticks, and ‎fleas -etc.) , by optical microscopes through  samples brought by students ‎from the field for testing, then diagnosed for the disease and treatment. ‎This laboratory can be used for experiments and practical training for other ‎courses such as Animal Physiology and others.‎
Among the devices, available in this laboratory are the following:

  • ‎Light Microscopes.‎
  • ‎Sieves.‎
  • ‎Liquid Nitrogen Container.‎
  • ‎Hemocytometer.‎

Microbiology Lab
In this lab;  different experiments and practical training are conducted to ‎teach students how to prepare the medias which are used for the growth of ‎microorganisms , as well as how to perform staining  for microorganisms ‎‎,  then the  use of optical  microscopes  for diagnoses  then treatment. ‎Students are also trained on how to conduct sensitivity tests for the bacteria ‎that was detected from the samples which have been  received from the ‎internal field (the farm) as well as from samples of the external field ‎‎(abroad).‎
Among the devices, available in this laboratory are the following:

  • ‎Incubator.‎
  • ‎Autoclave.‎
  • ‎Light Microscopes.
  • ‎Laminar Flow.
  • ‎Stomacher.‎

‎Veterinary Clinic

to train students for examining and diagnosis.

Farm

to train students on different surgeries.

Industry

Veterinary medicine program is directly connected with the local ‎society through veterinary clinic for treatment and consulting, ‎also, through the training program where students do the ‎training in different places such as Veterinary Medicine ‎Department in Ministry of Agriculture, public and private ‎institutions, in addition to examining all samples that farmers ‎send to the veterinary medicine department in special veterinary ‎labs, the results of examining these samples help to provide ‎accurate diagnosis and provide the appropriate treatment. ‎Farmers are also provided with practical means to protect their ‎animals and farms from many diseases. The department provide ‎guidance for farmers who want to make their startup projects by providing them with ways to building their farms in a perfect ‎manner and raising their animals in the best way. The ‎department makes full cooperation with municipalities, Humane ‎Societies, the Center for the Study of migratory birds, the ‎Equestrian clubs by providing medical consultation and medical ‎Seminars.

Teaching and Learning

As a result of the Advanced Technology evolve in all aspects, ‎education methods has evolved as well,  it's no longer ‎depending on prompting, on the contrary, different means of ‎modern technology has been used in education, using LCD is an ‎example of this; it is used in all veterinary medicine lectures. e-‎learning system is used in most of courses as well. Students are ‎asked to prepare lectures and Seminars which encourage them ‎to do research over the internet. Many modern devices are used ‎in animal checkup for Diagnosis purposes, such as: speculum, X-‎Ray imaging, O.P room, endoscopic examination, inhalation ‎anesthetic machine, All tools of orthopedic surgery and more.

Coursework and Assessment

Evaluation process is executed in different means in a way that ‎fits education process evolving, Students perform first, second ‎and final written exams in additional to practical exams, ‎practical exams consist of two aspects:‎
Practical field part, in which students learn how to handle ‎different cases in terms of making diagnosis, applying ‎treatments, taking samples and test them in the lap.‎

Due to the importance of the Clinic evaluation process, all ‎teaching staff participate in it. this process prepares the students ‎to the field work after graduation.‎
Clinic evaluation process consists of two aspects:‎

  • Written exams.‎
  • Oral exams.‎
