Facilities

We have access to the faculty’s computer labs which we occasionally used for some courses especially research methods course and training courses.
The labs are modern and have a class-set of computers for students to use and instructors to teach.

Students learn how to use Moodle, Excel and SPSS for their course work requirements.

Industry

We are working very hard to connect to the industry by making our students serve and train in all possible and available social agencies, institutions and medical, legal and educational facilities available for us. We periodically meet with and join local social organization to organize how they can help our students gain the required skills for becoming better potential social workers, therapists and specialists in the fields of education, health, human rights, human services and local community organizations.

Teaching and Learning

The department emphasizes the student centered learning. The emphasize is more on student learning by practice type and less teach-centered style of teaching. Students do enjoy and appreciate field work classes and group discussion formats.
The department is attempting to re-train teachers using old style lecture-type classes with modern-style student-centered approaches.

Coursework and Assessment

The department regularly assess the performance of the student learning process and outcomes and the faculty tracks and uses students’ final exam papers for the purposes of quality review. Department meetings are scheduled at the end of the semester to evaluate the process and the outcome and we adjust the process to achieve the goals set by the faculty and the department. When issues arise we have special meetings for resolving undesired practices and procedures.
