Industry
Pharm D students have an excellent scientific background in the pharmaceutical industry where they study all the courses related to the subject that are taught in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Bachelor program and has the ability to play a constructive and creative role in the pharmaceutical industry.
He also has a clinical background that allows him to play a distinctive role in the registration of pharmaceutical department in the Ministry of Health, where the factories have to provide evidence based data on the safety and efficacy of medicines for registration.
Teaching and Learning
Pharm D program depends mainly on classic and active lectures. In addition, clinical case study and small group discussion sessions have been applied in order to apply the knowledge on a real case, to answer the questions of students and evaluate their knowledge, to encourage students to discuss, analyze and criticize data and other works. Furthermore, seminars and projects are needed from students to teach them how to examine the references and periodicals. On the other hand, the program involves some interactive learning and online tutorials that are designed in a special way. The courses offer some online instructive and didactic lectures. In addition to course work, this program includes clinical clerkships in hospitals to further extend the understanding of clinical pharmacy practice within a multidisciplinary team and the integration of therapeutics into patient centered care.
Coursework and Assessment
The course policies include class attendance and participation; as student must attend at least 75% of the lectures. In most courses, three written exams are done in each course; that are first, second and final exams. Final exam has the largest bulk in the grading assessment method. In addition, rubric evaluation for seminars and review presentations is authorized in course grading. Furthermore, participation in online discussion (forum and online quizzes) is a part of course evaluation in most courses in the program.
