Industry
There is an intimate relation between our department and external society. Our staff is active in advising and consulting the chemical industry. The head of department staff is the chief of industry committee that have MOU with PADICO group. We try to have the same with different pharmaceutical companies in Ramallah and AluminiumNapco in Nablus.
Teaching and Learning
The traditional teaching is applied for basic courses where white board is used for derivations of mathematical equations and scientific relations. The LCD is used frequently in teaching, which is helpful to show figures, images, tables, and flowcharts. Video clips are applied as well in many courses to show manufacturing processes or safety applications. Projects will be offered for higher classes. Lot of modern laboratories,equipment and soft wards will be purchased and constructed.
Coursework and Assessment
The Bachelor degree in material engineering requires a minimum of 159 credit hours of course work. A detailed distribution of the minimum credit hours required for obtaining the Bachelor degree in material engineering is shown below:

The grading system is clear for students. This is highlighted to students at each course outline or course description. In general, there is first, second, activities and final examination. The summation mark for each course is 100. The student should have at least 60 point to pass. The university has alphabetical grading system, which reflects the degrees where D- and E present the failure in exam while A, B, C and D represent the success in exam. Where ( A: Excellent, B: very good, C: good and D accepted).
