University english i (e11000103) is a three credit-hour university-required english language course designed for students who need to work on the four skills of the language: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. the development of vocabulary and skills of comprehension are integral parts of the course. in addition, various reading strategies (making predictions, identifying main ideas, reading for details, relating information in the text to life experience) are introduced and developed through a wide range of topics for reading and writing. the course encourages a more analytical and independent approach to study and helps prepare the students for any subsequent exam preparation.

The course aims to assist students in acquiring modern concepts in the field of communication and understanding the essential skills for effective communication with oneself and others. this is achieved through the use of effective teaching methods that rely on student engagement and motivation to learn through training and self-directed learning. the course emphasizes skill development through teamwork and interactive methods, helping students improve their verbal and non-verbal communication skills by learning public speaking and the fundamentals of oration. additionally, it helps students develop active listening skills, and contributes to enhancing their abilities in dialogue and persuasion, overcoming public speaking anxiety, self-promotion, negotiation, job interviews, presentation and delivery, and writing. the course also provides students with knowledge about innovative and creative ideas that can be implemented, as well as how to write a resume. furthermore, the course aims to refine students' personalities through participation in group presentations.

This course aims to enrich students with the basic computer skills alongside with the theoretical and practical backgrounds behind those skills. first of all, software and hardware components of a computer are discussed. this forms the substrate from which a student can realize the practical applications of a computer, especially in artificial intelligence (ai). thereafter, the student awareness for the security vulnerabilities of a computer system is improved through discussing the threats associated with the absolute dependability on the internet in storing critical data. this is conducted with presenting the basic secure internet frameworks for students with emphasis on scientific research platforms (researchgate, google scholar, linkedin,etc). finally, word processing, statistical analysis and presentation software are discussed with practical applications in the lab.

University english ii is a three-credit hour university-required english language course specifically designed to meet the needs of the students of the humanities and social sciences. the instructors of the course will employ a broad-based approach by integrating the four language skills, in order to enable students to improve their reading skills and comprehension of a variety of academic texts and to provide their own input by expressing their opinions on the topics under discussion, through either verbal participation in class or written assignments at home. as the discussions in class will be held in english, this is hoped to enhance the listening comprehension of students as well as provide them with opportunities to exercise their speaking skills. the units in the prescribed textbook have been organized according to the various strategies that students need to practice in order to improve their speed and comprehension, particularly while reading on an academic subject in english. these strategies include understanding vocabulary in context, using the dictionary, understanding information from graphs and charts, scanning for specific information, taking notes from reading, studying collocations . etc. in addition to the texts set for intensive reading, six more passages are also considered as self reading passages so as to encourage students to read at home and contact their instructors.

Residential unit interior design. in this module, the work is done by applying the aesthetic concepts that the student learned previously in the design principles subject. the students have to consider both the expressive and functional aspects of the private housing units in their design. for instance, each student will design individually the interior spaces of a children's bedroom, a living room that opens to a dining room, and a bathroom. in addition to that, the students have to present and analyze case studies related to the three proposed projects. also, in this module, the students have to submit three practical projects that contain illustrative engineering schemes executed completely manually during the semester. finally, each student will create models for all the proposed projects mentioned above. design principles is a prerequisite for this course.

This course provides students with instructions which enable them to draw the perspective for the designing idea relying on untested blueprint procedures. it also provides students with better opportunities to apply certain designs which help students pass the theoretical stage of drawing to become more creative and confident at the assigned tasks. furthermore, this course aims at nurturing the creative imagination of students which results in developing the artistic appreciation and authentic sensitivity of students to appreciate the values of different designs. moreover, this course is an opportunity for students to learn all types of vanishing point perspectives*. finally, this course looks at the merits of teaching students about the drawing of one- dimensional, bi-dimensional, and three-dimensional objects and of other ways to expand the students understanding. students will be supplied with a large amount of information to enable them to draw the perspective for the designing idea relying on an elaborate format or script before carrying it out. firstly, vanishing point perspective. secondly, vanishing point perspective and at 2 vanishing point. finally, vanishing point perspective.

This module is a continuation of the design of residential units in interior design (1). it is focuses on the functional, expressive, and aesthetic aspects of the kitchen, master bedrooms, and entrance related to the residential units. each student will separately present and discuss several previous cases and present two practical projects that contain illustrative engineering schemes and a model work of the proposed projects. in addition to that, the students will hold two short practical exams (with one lecture for each exam) in which they deal with a design problem related to housing units. interior design (1) is a prerequisite for this course.

Commercial unit design. in this module, the student begins to gradually scale in the size of the project and its requirements. this course focuses on the interior design of commercial buildings and facilities that display pre-defined products such as a watch shop, jewelry, and clothing. the area of the first individual project is no more than 100 square meters. however, the area in the second group working project is around 200 square meters. the application process is carried out by presenting and discussing previous cases. in addition to that, the students presenting two practical projects that contain fully computerized extended engineering plans and models working for the proposed projects. finally, two short practical exams are held. through that, the student addresses a design problem related to both stores or shops in one lecture. interior design (2) is a prerequisite for this module.

Service units interior design (public service). the student begins to deal gradually with the size of the project and its requirements. this course focuses on the interior design of administrative and service facilities (e.g., telecommunication galleries, banks, and cultural centers) with a project area of not less than 150 square meters. the application is carried out by presenting and discussing previous cases and presenting two practical projects that contain fully computerized extended engineering plans and model work for the proposed projects. in addition, two short practical exams to be submitted in one lecture to show how the student deals with a design problem related to both service and administrative facilities. interior design (3) is a prerequisite for this course.

Tourism facilities interior design. the student begins dealing gradually with the size of the project and its requirements. this course focuses on the interior design of large multi-requirement tourists with various requirements and needs such as hotels, restaurants, cafes, travel, and tourism companies with a project area, not less than 200 square meters. the application is carried out by presenting and discussing previous cases and presenting two practical projects containing computerized illustrative engineering schemes, create models or digital panoramic snapshots of the proposed projects. in addition, two short practical exams will be held in one lecture. through that, the student deals with a design problem related to tourist facilities. interior design (4) is a prerequisite for this course.

The student submits a research report on a graduation project topic chosen in consultation with the supervising instructor. the project topic should be related to what the student has studied in college. a committee from the college reviews and evaluates the research proposal before the student begins writing the paper. this process qualifies the student to present the graduation project course subsequently.

In this course, students get field training after having finished their 3rd year (90 credit hours) as a preparation for them to have practical experience to complement the theoretical courses they have studied in the faculty. the training involves working in companies and institutions - both public and private - that work in the field of interior design. this course includes a minimum of 200 hours of training which can take place in either a summer course or a regular course provided that the student is taking a maximum of 11 credit hours in that course (including the training), under the supervision of an instructor from the department. the prospective outcomes of this course are the following: students comprehending the application on ground, recognizing the raw materials available in the local market and how to employ them in the area of interior design, and finally, getting to know the basics of working in companies such as dealing with customers and reinforcing group work and team spirit.

It is a 200-hour practical training where students refine two skills predetermined by the course teacher and are related to one of the art workshops (gypsum, painting, blacksmithing, carpentry, glass, aluminium, marble, carving ..etc). the student and the teacher agree on an agenda so that the student presents a technical project in each skill as a mid-project and a final project. the two projects are the result of the practical skills acquired by the student during his work in these technical workshops.

A review of the types of arabic calligraphy, their characteristics, features, and the plastic and aesthetic values that the arabic letter carries. in it, the teacher focuses on the naskh and ruqah scripts through a practical, analytical explanation of the letters shape and proportion, using authentic inks and materials in planning, so that the trainee gains the sound skill to reach the students ability to innovate.

This course provides an overview of the history of calligraphy and ornamentation, as well as the development of the science of calligraphy and the key figures in the field. it also focuses on understanding the rules and foundations of calligraphy and ornamentation, along with the tools used in their execution. students engage in practical applications related to arabic scripts and islamic ornamentation, exploring ways to integrate these elements into design.

This course provides students with the practical skills necessary for the process of manual formation/making of ceramics through compression and rope formation techniques or slide formation techniques. In addition, this course aims at training students how to firmly stick parts and articles in order to accomplish the required design, with a great emphasis on the characteristics and quality of clay. It also gives students the opportunity to learn how to deal with problems and acquire the means and ways with which they can preserve their work and follow up with it on a continual basis. All of this will be accomplished by students carrying out created designs which accomplish all these concepts.
