The Department of Energy Engineering and Environment at An-Najah National University (ANU) is a unique department for education, and research in energy and environment related topic in Palestine. This is a new engineering program, which was established in 2011/2012 academic year.
It is worth mentioning that this program is not one area of specialization but rather a combination of various disciplines, mainly electrical, mechanical and environmental engineering, as well as engineering management skills.
The program aims at building distinctive foundations in the field of conventional and renewable energy of various types such as photovoltaic energy, solar thermal energy, wind energy, biomass energy, geothermal in addition to fuel cell energy. On the other hand, the program focuses on the establishment of graduate students on the subject of energy efficiency and energy conservation in all sectors, energy policy, energy regulations and legislation as well as energy management. All this makes graduate students able to find solutions to the energy and environmental problems plaguing Palestine and the world in general.
