The Information Technology Department boasts a total of five computer labs, each designed to cater to specific needs. Four of these labs are furnished with 40 computers each, while the fifth lab houses 30 computers. Additionally, we have a dedicated network lab that is equipped with 20 computers, along with a comprehensive array of Cisco Routers and switches housed in racks. This specialized lab serves as a hub for courses focused on networking, allowing students to gain practical hands-on experience in this field.

Industry

The program is supported by a semester-based committee that plays a crucial role in connecting the program with the dynamic market and industry landscape of networks and information security. This committee is tasked with several missions aimed at fostering strong ties between the program and the industry.

One of the key responsibilities of the committee is to regularly conduct visits to Information Technology companies and organizations. These visits serve multiple purposes, including staying updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and practices.

Furthermore, the committee takes the initiative to invite industry experts and professionals to deliver presentations to the students. These presentations focus on addressing cutting-edge technology issues and emerging trends in the field of networks and information security.

Teaching and Learning

All courses within the program are conducted in English, ensuring a consistent language of instruction. The curriculum encompasses both theoretical and practical components, providing students with a comprehensive learning experience.

Theoretical concepts are covered during lessons, complemented by a range of projects and homework assignments that focus on practical application. By implementing the theoretical knowledge acquired, students gain a deeper understanding of the course topics and become more adept at applying the ideas discussed. This practical approach equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their future careers.

Coursework and Assessment

Each course within the program follows an assessment structure that includes a series of exams. Typically, courses feature a combination of first, second, and final exams, which are administered in a traditional paper-based format. However, if the course content allows, exams may also be conducted using an online platform such as Moodle.

In addition to exams, quizzes are conducted throughout the duration of the course to assess students' understanding of the material. Furthermore, the practical aspect of the courses is supported by a team of teaching assistants who assist students in completing hands-on activities and assignments.
