Facilities

An-Najah University owns the Media Center (formerly An-Najah TV), with the Department of Radio and Television and the Department of Communication and Digital Media, laboratories equipped with the latest devices and equipment and advanced in terms of both physical and software entities. An-Najah National University Library also operates in its two branches in the old and new campuses by providing the necessary books, references and periodicals, in addition to modern global databases. As for the halls, they are sufficiently available for students.

Industry

The film and television industry is often described as a “soft power,” although there is a significant economic power to this industry.

The film and television industry contributes a large percentage of the national product in many countries of the world by providing jobs and high wages for those who work directly in this industry, including actors, writers, assistant technicians and workers, as well as small businesses, etc., which contributes to raising the level of the country’s national income.

In some developed countries, the arts industry exceeds major industrial sectors and the arts, led by films, cause a pure trade surplus for these countries. It is a sector that is witnessing an increasing annual growth with technological progress on both the economic and technical levels.

The arts sector also remains the most fortunate in the world at the present time, despite the world's economies going through severe crises.

This is why, we see that the Palestinian society's need for this industrial sector is urgent because it is not available, and therefore this program came to meet this need.

Teaching and Learning

The learning and teaching methods intended to be used in this program will be diverse and different. It will include:

Since the program is in the fields of film and television industry, it is necessary that the practical side will take the largest part of the teaching methods, to prepare students to be practical in this field and to gain the necessary practical experience when they come out to real life.

Coursework and Assessment

Diversity in assessment methods will be the basis for this program, as it includes: written exams, activities, lectures, and production of projects. In addition, teaching methods will depend on modern information sources such as modern books, references and refereed scientific journals, in addition to other information sources that can be provided by the Internet. In addition, participation in local and international conferences in the field of cinema and television can be used to obtain the latest information in this field.
