Palestine's Delegation Visits a Number of Slovak Universities and Institutions
An academic delegation representing An-Najah National University and Palestine Technical University (Kadoorie) visited a number of Slovak universities and institutions. The visit aimed at networking partnerships among Palestinian and Slovak universities, reinforcing cooperation and discussing academic and research exchange programs.
The delegation from An-Najah included Dr. Kherieh Rassas, Vice President for International Development and External Affairs; Professor Mohammad Al-Subu, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Professor Naji Qatanani, Dean of Graduate Studies.
The delegation from Kadoorie University included Professor Nour Abu-Rub, the University President; Dr. Derar Eleyan and Dr. Makram Abbas as well as the Slovak Republic Secretary Third Mahmoud Al-Shaikh from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
The visit included tours to learn about Slovak culture and meetings at Slovak University of Agriculture and Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. The delegation discussed establishing a joint PhD program in agriculture and producing joint research papers related to Erasmus + programs.
During the meetings, An-Najah delegation briefed the hosting universities on An-Najah's history, academic programs, development projects and student exchange as well as scholarship programs. They also shed light on the political and financial challenges that face higher education institutions in Palestine. The visit was concluded with a meeting with the Ambassador of Palestine in Bratislava.
