Established with a steadfast commitment to fostering inclusive education, An-Najah National University proudly inaugurates a specialized computer laboratory catering to the unique needs of students with visual impairments. This facility stands as an integral component of the University's Disability Support Office, strategically designed to furnish indispensable support, ensuring the academic success of visually impaired students and facilitating their optimal utilization of available technology.

The laboratory is outfitted with cutting-edge devices and software tailored to enhance accessibility for students with visual disabilities. Among its features are computers equipped with speech programs and screen magnification, complemented by specialized screens supporting Braille. Furthermore, a Braille printer is at their disposal, facilitating the conversion of study materials into Braille books, thereby simplifying access and reading.

Our objectives are multifaceted, aiming to:

  • Empower visually impaired students to successfully navigate and complete their university studies.
  • Facilitate the seamless educational and cultural integration of these students within the university environment.
  • Offer educational curricula in Braille, ensuring unfettered access to knowledge.
  • Equip students with laptops featuring the latest programs, including the "Nattiq" program.
  • Provide reader and writer services during exams, ensuring students capitalize on exam opportunities.
  • Conduct training courses on computer usage for university students, as well as those affiliated with schools and residential institutions.
  • Extend complimentary printing services in Braille to students with visual disabilities, whether from An-Najah National University or other institutions.

Established in 2007 to address the pressing need for such services, the clinic emerged in response to the escalating incidents of accidents and injuries leading to disfigurement or limb loss, exacerbated by the prevailing political situation. A proactive initiative by the university, this clinic aligns seamlessly with the institution's social and humanitarian mission, aiming to provide essential support and care for the injured and disabled population.

As an integral component of the Disability Support Office policy and strategy, the clinic epitomizes solidarity and equality in access to health and medical services. Operating with precision and purpose, the clinic employs specialized experts committed to delivering distinguished services, including:

  • Installation of upper and lower replacement limbs and comprehensive medical assistance to enhance the quality of life, mobility, and social interaction for patients.
  • Financial support for treatment and medical services to individuals in need, either in full or partial coverage, facilitated by a robust network of relationships within the local community and external partners.
  • Provision of complimentary physical therapy, contributing to the healing process, muscle strength restoration, and overall improvement in movement and independence.
