On Monday, February 24, 2025, An-Najah National University’s Faculty of Business and Communication and Deanship of Student Affairs held a dialogue session organized by the Young Journalists Syndicate, titled “Palestinian Displacement and the Role of Media in Preserving the Narrative.” The event addressed U.S. and Israeli policies on Palestinian displacement and the media’s role in documenting Palestinian rights.


The session featured: Mr. Raed Debiy, Head of the Political Science Department and President's Assistant for Community Affairs at the university; Mr. Murad Shteiwi, Director of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission; journalist Jamil Dababat, Director of the Palestinian News Agency “WAFA” in Nablus; Mr. Fahd Wahbeh, representative of the Palestinian Red Crescent in Nablus; Mr. Anan Al-Nasser, Coordinator of Student Associations at the Deanship of Student Affairs; and student Ayoub Yamak, President of the Young Journalists Syndicate. Attendees included Ms. Yasmin Shahroor, Director of the Communication Department; Mr. Eyad Aqraa, Director of Student Affairs; academic and administrative staff; and students.

The event was moderated by Nour Odeh and included video presentations on Red Cross interventions, with student Qusay Suleiman reciting the Quran, discussing the critical stage of the Palestinian cause. Mr. Shteiwi covered annexation and displacement, while Mr. Wahbeh discussed the Red Cross efforts. Journalist Dababat spoke on the media’s role in digital documentation.

Mr. Debiy highlighted the university’s commitment to supporting research and raising awareness of national issues, stressing the importance of joint academic and media efforts to preserve the Palestinian narrative. Student Yamak discussed the coordination with experts on Palestinian displacement and the role of media in protecting rights.

This dialogue session reflects the University’s commitment to fostering dialogue and supporting academic research on critical global issues. The university empowers students to actively contribute to societal change.
