An-Najah Scout’s Group, under the Deanship of Student Affairs, has successfully concluded its first specialized course aimed at qualifying scouts and young leaders. The course, held from September 5-7, 2024, at the Martyr Salah Khalaf Center in Al-Fara'a, was led by Wasan Al-Sayed, Secretary of the Nablus Commissioner.


The closing ceremony featured the presence of key figures, including Mohammed Jameel Sawalma, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Scout Association, and Ayman Mazhar, Group Leader and Commissioner for Training and Leadership Development. The event commenced with the Palestinian national anthem, a recitation of the Fatihah for Palestinian martyrs, and verses from the Quran recited by scout Basel Jory.

In his address, Sawalma conveyed greetings from Lieutenant-General Jibril Rajoub, President of the Palestinian Scout Association, and Minister Issam Al-Qaddoumi, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Higher Council for Youth and Sports. He emphasized the continuous support of the Palestinian Scout Association and the Council for the Scout group, recognizing their crucial role in nurturing future leaders and contributing to An-Najah National University's mission in extracurricular development and community service.

Course leader Wasan Al-Sayed expressed her gratitude to the course's supporters, including Lieutenant-General Rajoub, Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Zaid, President of An-Najah University, and the team at the Martyr Salah Khalaf Center. She also praised the participants for their dedication, discipline, and eagerness to learn.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Muna Mahrab thanked the group leader and trainers for the valuable knowledge shared during the course and called for more advanced training to further develop scouts’ skills.

In his concluding remarks, Ayman Mazhar extended greetings from An-Najah University President Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid and the Dean of Student Affairs, Mohammed Daqqa. He commended the resilience of the participants and reaffirmed the University's unwavering support for the growth of the Palestinian scouting movement.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of participation and appreciation certificates, followed by the symbolic lowering of the group’s flag, marking the end of a successful training course.
