Student Association for Sustainable Development at An-Najah National University Explores Collaboration with Nablus Municipality
In a significant step towards fostering collaboration between local institutions and civil society, the Student Association for Sustainable Development at An-Najah National University, led by its president, Hilmi Tabila, and members of the administrative body, visited the Nablus Municipality on Saturday, July 27, 2024. During the visit, the delegation met with Dr. Hussam Al-Shakhshir, Mayor of Nablus, and members of the municipal council, including Dr. Maher Arafat, to discuss shared concerns and potential future projects aimed at the city’s development.
Mayor Al-Shakhshir underscored the importance of this visit in reinforcing the partnership between the municipality and the association, noting that collaborative efforts could significantly impact the achievement of sustainable development goals in Nablus. He emphasized the necessity of ongoing dialogue and cooperation among all stakeholders to enhance the well-being of citizens and preserve the environment.
The Student Association for Sustainable Development was recently established at An-Najah National University with the mission of promoting and implementing sustainable development initiatives. The association aims to engage students, university staff, and the local community in activities aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
