On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, the Faculty of Science, Deanship of Students Affairs, and the Ecology Friends Association at An-Najah National University, concluded the activities of the sixth environmental week which were launched on the occasion of the Palestinian Environmental National Day which is celebrated annually on Mach 3.


The event was held at the Faculty of Science Hall, the new campus, and was attended by Dr. Raed Kawni, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Mr. Anan An-Naser from the Deanship of Students Affairs, Eng. Amjad Alkharaz, and Director of Environmental Quality Authority in Nablus as well as a number of the academic staff and interested students from the University.

The event included a number of lectures and presentations about a variety of topics, including illegal waste trade, Ozon hole, and biodiversity in Palestine. For instance, Dr. Walid Basha from the Faculty of the University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences gave a presentation about biodiversity in Palestine.

Furthermore, a video was screened during the event about the importance of the wastewater treatment plant in the west of Nablus.

A visit to one of the nature reserves in the governorate will be arranged by the end of this month to celebrate earth day.
