Two teams from An-Najah National University's Department of Computer Engineering have been qualified under the supervision of Dr. Anas Toma, Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering to represent the ‎University in the Final Phase of OpenCV AI Competition2021 after passing phase 1 of the competition.


For this year’s competition, the OpenCV AI Competition 2021, sponsored by Microsoft Azure and Intel focuses on solutions solving real world problems using spatial AI. Teams will use the new OpenCV AI Kit D (OAK-D) to solve their challenge areas. The OAK-D is a smart camera with neural inference and depth processing capability on board.

The 210 teams selected for the finals have three months to complete their project.  Finalist teams were announced on 3 Mar 2021.  Finalists have been awarded OAK-D devices to accomplish their projects, which have been mailed before the end of February. Finalists will have until 11 July 2021 to complete their projects, and regional winners will be announced 26 July 2021. Grand Prize Winners will be announced 9 August 2021.

The first team includes two students, namely; Salsabeel Daraghmeh and Aisha Marmash. The second team also includes two students, namely: Rawan Abo-dyak and Shihnaz Nasser.
