The Faculty of Law’s Moot Court team at An-Najah National University have been qualified to represent the University in the international stage of Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moot after they succeeded in participating in the regional preliminary stage in the past week.


The team, consisting of Dania Qirem, Batool Abu Zant, Laila Jamous, and Nour Abu Hasan, and trained by Mr. Muhammad Abu Shehab and Ms. Nadeen Hafayza, reached advanced levels among the participating universities. Based on the excellent performance of the students, the team was exceptionally invited on 14 March, 2021 to participate in the regional Hybrid AlexU-CRCICA Second Pre-moot Competition for International Commercial Arbitration, and the invitation was organized by the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration. The competition will be held virtually this March, and it will include the participation of several prestigious universities in law around the world.

Dr. Na’eem Salameh, Dean of the University’s Faculty of Law, said that despite the difficult circumstances that all the world is living during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, the Faculty’s team received extensive training through electronic and face-to-face meetings, and they were determined to achieve best results.

“Congratulations to all team members on qualifying and for their fantastic performance.” Dr. Salameh said.

He added that the participation of a Palestinian team in such a prestigious competition promotes the Palestinian presence in different international legal forums.

This participation is one of the many participations done by the Faculty of Law’s moot court team since its establishment among of which was participating in the seventh-edition Arab Competition for Moot Courts held in February 2020.
