The Faculty of Engineering and IT is the largest faculty of An-Najah National University in terms of student numbers and staff members. The faculty homes more than 5200 students and 120 staff members and includes 17 programmes in engineering and IT.


The faculty is also distinguished with its academic and research achievements on the national and international levels.

The faculty has been granted the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) international evaluation for 9 engineering programmes. The programmes are: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical ‎Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, ‎Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering and Building Engineering respectively.

Established in the United States in 1932, ABET is a non-profit and non-governmental accrediting agency for academic programmes in the disciplines of applied science, computing, engineering and engineering technology worldwide.

The accredited programmes facilitate enrollment for those who plan to continue their graduate and post-graduate studies as there are several international universities require completing an ABET accredited programme for those levels.  

The programmes' graduates will have wider job opportunities nationally and internationally. Therefore, the programmes have been recently accredited by the Engineering Education Committee which is part of the Union of Arab Engineers to facilitate the work of Palestinian engineers in Kuwait.

The faculty annually attracts top Tawjihi students form different parts of Palestine, which contributes to upgrading the quality of the faculty graduates.

Moreover, the faculty is distinguished with its building and infrastructure as it is equipped with modern devices, safety management systems and labs.

The University also established the Quality and Accreditation Unit – ABET Centre in April 2011 in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology to organize, follow up, implement and execute ABET processes in the faculty. The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology equipped the unit with necessary facilities to provide an appropriate working atmosphere for ABET executive team to do their work preparing for ABET accreditation.

We can only say that the Faculty of Engineering and IT has reached internationality because of its outstanding staff members and students as well as the support of the University Administration.
