The torch lightening signals the completion of 100 years on the establishment of An-Najah National University. 

The ceremonial relaying of the torch started at Ibn-Al-Hytham School in Nablus and ended at An-Najah's New Campus.

During the relaying of the torch, 150 of An-Najah students took turns to carry the flame from Ibn-Al-Hytham School, in which An-Najah School was born, to the New Campus.

In the New Campus, the students were received by Dr. Hani Nabulsi, member of An-Najah's Board of Trustees, Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting Presidents, General Manager Akram Rajoub, the Governor of Nablus, Engineer Adly Yaish, Mayor of Nablus Municipality and Mr. Omar Hashim, Chairman of Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as An-Najah vice presidents and assistants, faculty deans, heads of departments and a large number of An-Najah's academic and administrative staff and students.   

The torch was handed to Prof. Natsheh who lit the centenary cauldron.

On this occasion, Prof. Natsheh announced the launch of the activities of An-Najah Centenary Festival: "100 Years of Innovation and Excellence".

Dr. Nabulsi commented: "I would like to thank you all for attending this event. 100 years ago An-Najah started as a small Nabulsi School, and now it is a bacon of excellence in Palestine. 100 years means that An-Najah is more ancient than some countries. This is Palestine, this is Nablus and this is An-Najah."

The activities will continue on Tuesday, September 27, 2018 with the official inauguration ceremony at the Prince Turki Bin Abdul Al-Aziz Theatre in the New Campus.
