Under the leadership of Dr. Mohammad Qneibi, founder and director of the Neuroscience Center at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, An-Najah National University has launched a pioneering research group specializing in Neuroscience and Neuropharmacology. This initiative aims to unravel the complexities of the brain and develop innovative medical solutions for neurological and psychological disorders.

The research group focuses on investigating the effects of chemical compounds—both synthetic and plant-derived—on neural receptor activity. By delving into the interaction between these compounds and neural systems, the group seeks to develop cutting-edge therapeutic approaches to address critical challenges in the field.

The group's efforts have already garnered international recognition, with several high-impact publications in prestigious scientific journals. Among its notable achievements is a study published in ACS Chemical Neuroscience (Impact Factor: 5), which examines the development of neuroprotective drug treatments. Another groundbreaking study, published in Molecular Neurobiology (Impact Factor: 5.1), explores the potential of organic pharmaceutical compounds in targeting AMPA receptors, enhancing their biophysical properties and offering promising therapeutic implications.

Committed to fostering global collaboration, the group actively welcomes partnerships with international researchers and institutions. This collaborative approach aims to advance knowledge exchange and propel joint research efforts in the vital field of neuroscience and neuropharmacology.
