The Deanship of Scientific Research at An-Najah has recently announced the winners of An-Najah Research Award for Natural Science for the year 2017/2018, an award offered annually to Arab scholars for the best published research by prominent international journals.


This year award was granted to Dr. Isra Dmour from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Prof. Amira Gamal Eldeen from the Cancer Biology and Genetics Laboratory Centre of Excellence for Advanced Sciences, NRC, Cairo, Egypt.

 

Dr. Dmour conducted her paper titled:  "Novel nanoparticles based on chitosan-dicarboxylate conjugates via tandem ionotropic/covalent crosslinking with tripolyphosphate and subsequent evaluation as drug delivery vehicles" in partnership with Professor Mutasem Taha.

On the other hand, Prof. Gamal Eldeen conducted her paper titled: "Modified gold nanoparticles for intracellular delivery of anti-liver cancer siRNA" in partnership with the researchers Hanan Shaat, Amany Mostafa, Moustafa Moustafa, Ahmed Emam, Enas El-Hussieny and Mahmoud Elhefnawi.

The winning research papers were published by the International Journal of Pharmaceutics of ELSEVIER, the second most cited journal in the Pharmaceutical Sciences field out of 168 journals with an impact factor of 3.649.

Notes:

As part of its strategy to encourage basic and applied research, An-Najah National University ‎dedicates two annual research awards with a budget of 5000$ each in the natural sciences and ‎humanities field.‎

The award is given to Arab researchers who offer distinguished ideas through research papers ‎published by international high impact journals. ‎

An-Najah Research Award aims at encouraging Arab researchers to develop scientific research ‎and transfer technology through basic and applied research inside Palestinian and Arab ‎institutions.‎
