Dr. Saed Zyoud; Top Palestinian Researcher in the Number of Classified Research in the United States National Library of Medicine

Dr. Saed Zyoud, Head of the Clinical and Community Pharmacy Division of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah National University was ranked first in Palestine in the number of papers published by Thomson Reuters data base and other research journals with high impact factor in the U.S and the U.K.
Dr. Zyoud is an important Palestinian Arab researcher in the field of medicine and pharmacy and an arbitrator in a number of prominent international research journals with high impact factor. He is also an editor in a number of international medical journals and one of the most prominent Palestinian researchers in a number of classified research by the U.S National Library of Medicine PubMed.
During his PhD, which he obtained from the University of Science Malaysia, Dr. Zyoud published more than 25 research papers in prominent American and British journals and obtained a number of awards such as the Research Excellence Award and best PhD research project on medical sciences in Malaysia.
In 2012, Dr. Zyoud came back to An-Najah where he became the Head of the Clinical and Community Pharmacy Division of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. He focused on promoting the role of the pharmacist in pharmaceutical care and other areas such as clinical toxicology, smoking cessation and public health through publishing research in cooperation with his colleagues at the university.
One of Dr. Zyoud’s greatest achievements was his participation in writing a chapter in a book titled “Pharmacy Practice in Developing Countries: Achievements and Challenges” which was published by Elsevier, an international publishing house and part of the Reed Elsevier Collection. He accomplished this work in cooperation with Professor Waleed Sweileh from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The book offers a detailed review of the history and development of pharmacy practice in developing countries across Africa, Asia, and South America. This book focuses on each country’s strengths and achievements, as well as areas of weakness, barriers to improvement and challenges. It sets out to establish a baseline for best practices, taking various factors into account and offering solutions and opportunities for the future.
