In a recent analysis of An-Najah’s research cooperation, it was found that a remarkable breakthrough has been made in cooperating with international institutions in publishing research in the past ten years.


The analysis showed that most of the international research was done with researchers from the United States with 135 joint papers, most of which were in the medical science and engineering fields. The majority of those papers were done by Dr. Mohammad Al-Masri from the Faculty of Engineering (10 papers) and Professor Waleed Sweileh from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (8 papers).

Next were Jordan and Malaysia with 91 joint research papers which were mainly in chemistry, clinical pharmaceutical sciences and clinical toxicology. Professor Ismael Warrad from the Faculty of Sciences participated with 27 papers whereas Dr. Saed Zyoud and Ms Samah Al-Jabi participated with 45 and 37 papers respectively.

There were also 82 joint research papers with Germany in geology where Dr. Radwan Kilani submitted 11 papers. The university also published 68 papers in cooperation with researchers from Morocco, 55 of which were conducted in cooperation with Prof. Ismael Warrad.

University statistics also show that in 2006, an-Najah was cooperating with 17 countries and the number increased 5 times to reach 93 countries in the past ten years.

As for the institutions with which An-Najah had most research collaborations, the University of Science Malaysia was first with 55 papers and 49 ones with Mohammed Premier University in Morocco came second with 94 research papers.

Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah commended An-Najah staff’s efforts and stressed the importance of increasing widening the base of cooperation with national and international institutions and academics.
