The Al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations in Beirut has recently issued a book titled: The Islamic Feminism and its Role in the Political Development of Palestine, a thesis authored by Ms Kholood Al-Masri by which she has acquired her Master’s degree in Women’s Studies at An-Najah in 2014.


This study examines the subject of Islamic Feminism and its role in political development in Palestine, the understanding of the concept of Islamic Feminism, as well as its formation, the controversy around its designation, and the conditions under which it appeared in Palestine. It adopts the historical method to analyze the chronological developments accompanying the movement and refers to literature which addresses the concept feminism and its issues.

Ms Al-Masri clarifies that Palestinian Islamic women were able to impose their presence in institutional work and political systems in different parts of the Arab World.
