An-Najah Student Wins the Gerner Research Award
An-Najah Student Sawsan Ahmed from the Planning and Political Development Programme at the Faculty of Graduate Studies has recently won the Gerner Research Award, an international award offered by the International Studies Association in the U. S.
The research paper, titled: “Types of Palestinian Political Leadership and their Effect on the National Liberation Project”, was supervised by Dr. Hasan Ayoub, Assistant Professor at An-Najah.
About the Paper
The proposed research project aims at examining three types of Palestinian political leadership and their relationship with the development of the Palestinian national liberation project.
The study examines three types of leadership through three periods of time; since 1967 until 1993 and the Oslo agreement: The establishment of the PA, with the emergence of the PA and after the death of President Yasser Arafat.
Dr. Ayoub mentioned that the project is an important contribution to the Palestinian cause.
About the Award
The Gerner Research Award is offered to prominent research in 40 different fields of study and is supervised by the Palestinian American Research Center in Ramallah and New York.
