An-Najah Student Chosen as Palestine’s Ambassador at IEEE Middle East Student and Young Professional Congress (MESYP)

Student Najeeb Aqel, third year student of An-Najah’s BA computer engineering and minor American studies programme, has recently been chosen as Palestine’s ambassador at IEEE Middle East Student and Young Professional Congress (MESYP) which will be held in Tunisia from August 1st – August 4th, 2017.
Organized by the IEEE INSAT Student Branch, MESYP is an international IEEE congress that brings together engineering students and young professionals in order to provide technical enrichment and a cultural exchange.
The congress will enable participants to attend sessions of technical workshops and soft skills, as well as guided tours and a professional and cultural exchange environment.
The congress aims at providing the right framework for an informative and entertaining interactivity proliferation by offering participants the opportunity to work their way towards the professional world and enrich their technical skills.
Student Aqel mentioned that he moderated workshops and lectures at An-Najah National University, Bethlehem University and the Arab American University of Jenin. One of his tasks was to examine the Palestinian people stereotyped image of Tunisia and the Tunisian people.
Dr. Tamer Khatib, Head of IEEE in Palestine said that 12 young professionals from Palestine will participate in the congress, three of which are chosen as ambassadors; namely, student Aqel from An-Najah, student Basem Khalaf from the Islamic University of Gaza and Engineer Hossam Malheis from Wataniya Palestine Mobile Telecommunication Company and one of An-Najah graduates.
On this occasion, Dr. Khaled Sahli, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and IT congratulated student Aqel and commend An-Najah IEEE efforts and achievements in the past years.
