In a significant milestone for An-Najah National University, students Mohammad Abu Bakr and Zubaida Al-Sadr from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology have successfully completed a prestigious three-month training program at the Advanced Simulation Institute in the Jülich Research Center, Germany.

The training, focused on "Artificial Intelligence for Image Analysis," was part of the 8th Call of the German-Palestinian Science Bridge (GPSB). It was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Hamed Abdelhaq from An-Najah, Ahmad Abu Alia—a researcher at Jülich Research Center and now affiliated with Bergische Universität Wuppertal—and Dr. Mohsen Sharaybi from Jülich Research Center.

During the program, Mohammad and Zubaida presented innovative research on video data analysis for complex human crowd scenarios using deep learning algorithms. Their work received high praise from supervisors and peers alike, showcasing their exceptional analytical and technical skills. Currently, they are collaborating on a research paper to publish their findings, aiming to make a significant contribution to advancements in artificial intelligence and image analysis.

The Jülich Research Center is renowned as one of Europe’s premier interdisciplinary research hubs. With over 7,000 staff members, it hosts one of the continent’s most powerful supercomputers and Europe’s first quantum computing infrastructure.

This achievement underscores An-Najah National University's commitment to fostering international research collaborations and equipping its students to lead in cutting-edge scientific fields.
