As part of the International Practical Training Program, Ahmad Namrouti, a student in the Computer Science Apprenticeship Program at An-Najah National University, distinguished himself during his training at Salahaddin University- Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Describing the experience as one of the most exceptional in his life, Ahmad said, “From a young age, I have always aspired to achieve excellence, and this training opportunity in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, facilitated by the Arab Council for Students Training and Innovation (ASCTI), specifically at Salahaddin University, has been an incredible journey of growth and self-discovery.” His goal extended beyond academic achievement, as he sought personal development, new skills, and diverse perspectives.

Upon his arrival in Erbil, Ahmad found himself immersed in a city that seamlessly blends ancient history with modern development. His training focused on enhancing his expertise in networking and web development while adapting to an environment distinct from Palestine. At Salahaddin University, Ahmad gained practical experience in the university's laboratories, applying his knowledge in real-world settings. A standout moment was his visit to Korek Telecom, where he explored the company’s history, services, and the complexities of managing extensive telecommunications networks, further solidifying his technical expertise.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Ahmad’s journey was the relationships he built with peers from countries such as Egypt, Bahrain, and Syria. “These friendships were not just fleeting connections but bridges to a world of new ideas and cultures,” he shared. Ahmad also praised the hospitality of the Kurdish people, whose warmth and kindness provided valuable insights into their history and traditions. This cultural exchange enhanced his ability to work effectively in multicultural teams while deepening his appreciation for diversity.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ahmad took the opportunity to explore the natural and cultural beauty of the Kurdistan Region. From the historic Erbil Citadel to the breathtaking mountains of Rawanduz, Aqrah, Soran, and Shuman, each site left a lasting impression. These experiences broadened his perspective and deepened his appreciation of the region’s rich cultural and geographical diversity.

Despite the language barrier, Ahmad found communication easy, as many locals spoke English or Arabic. One of his most memorable challenges was participating in a televised interview, where he shared his insights about his training and the beauty of Erbil. Additionally, delivering speeches at various events bolstered his confidence and public speaking skills.

Encouraging his fellow students to seize similar opportunities, Ahmad said, “Traveling and training in new environments allow you to discover yourself and develop skills beyond what can be achieved in classrooms. The Kurdistan Region is a remarkable place with hospitable people and unique experiences. The challenges you encounter will make you stronger, more resilient, and equipped with invaluable lessons.”

In closing, Ahmad expressed heartfelt gratitude to An-Najah National University and its Practical Training Center for making this opportunity possible, with special thanks to Dr. Imad Al-Qasem. He also acknowledged the support he received throughout his journey. “This experience was not just professional training; it was a journey of self-discovery and a stepping stone toward building my future,” he concluded.
