Under the Prestigious HESPAL Scholarship Program

As part of the distinguished HESPAL Scholarship Program (Higher Education Scholarship for Palestinians), designed to empower young Palestinian academics, Ms. Mira Jardaneh from An-Najah National University has earned her Master’s degree with Distinction in Management of Information Systems and Digital Innovation from Warwick Business School—ranked among the UK’s top ten business schools and among the world’s top 70 universities according to the QS World University Rankings 2025.

Throughout her academic journey, Ms. Jardaneh participated in several workshops and training sessions organized by the university in collaboration with leading global firms such as Deloitte and EY, gaining valuable insights into the practical applications of technology and digital innovation in contemporary work environments.

Reflecting on her experience, Ms. Jardaneh noted that adapting to the UK’s academic system—characterized by continuous discussion and academic independence—was initially challenging, yet ultimately strengthened her confidence, critical thinking, and adaptability. She emphasized that the HESPAL Scholarship played a pivotal role in her success by providing both financial and academic support.

Ms. Jardaneh expressed deep gratitude to An-Najah National University, particularly the Grants and Scholarships Unit and the Academic and Professional Development Center, for their continuous support from the application phase to her return to Palestine. She highlighted how this backing reinforced her sense of belonging and responsibility toward her institution.

Her Master’s thesis examined trust in Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) systems within organizational settings, exploring how managerial levels influence the use of AI and its implications for accountability, autonomy, and decision-making. The study underscored the human and social dimensions of adopting AI technologies in institutions.

Upon completing her studies, Ms. Jardaneh expressed pride in dedicating her achievement to her university and homeland, reaffirming her commitment to advancing education and research in Palestine—particularly in digital transformation and smart education.

Now back at An-Najah University, she has joined its academic staff, determined to transfer the knowledge and expertise she gained abroad to her students and colleagues and to contribute to the university’s ongoing mission of academic excellence and community service.
