An-Najah National University’s Kinda Hawash Elected Middle East Regional Director for the AIAS Board of Directors


An-Najah National University proudly announces that Kinda Hawash, a distinguished student from its architecture program, has been elected as the Middle East Regional Director for the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) for the 2025/2026 term. She will represent approximately 30 AIAS chapters across Arab universities, strengthening her leadership role within the architectural student community.
Hawash, currently serving as the President of An-Najah’s AIAS chapter, secured this prestigious position following elections at the annual FORUM conference held in Austin, Texas. Her election underscores her outstanding contributions, innovative leadership, and commitment over three years of active engagement in both local and international AIAS initiatives. Her efforts have played a pivotal role in enhancing the global presence of An-Najah’s AIAS chapter.
The FORUM conference also saw the election of the AIAS President, Vice President, and six regional directors worldwide. Competing for the Middle East Regional Director position, Hawash emerged victorious, making history as the first Palestinian student to attain this esteemed title. In this capacity, she will advocate for student interests, foster regional collaborations, and contribute to the advancement of architectural education across the Middle East.
Accompanying her at the conference was Abdulrahman Hawash, Vice President of An-Najah’s AIAS chapter. The event brought together chapter presidents and student leaders from around the world, featuring candidate presentations, campaign activities, and inspirational speeches that highlighted future visions and initiatives.
Expressing her gratitude, Hawash extended appreciation to An-Najah National University, AIAS, and the Deanship of Student Affairs for their steadfast support. She emphasized that this milestone reflects the continuous efforts of An-Najah’s students and their growing influence both locally and globally.
The AIAS is a globally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to supporting architecture students throughout their academic journeys. An-Najah’s AIAS chapter, affiliated with the Deanship of Student Affairs, has achieved remarkable success, including winning the Best International Chapter Award twice consecutively. This latest achievement further solidifies its standing and influence on the international architectural stage.
