In line with its longstanding commitment to strengthening and expanding inclusive education for all groups, An-Najah National University announces the launch of the DIEM Project – Developing Inclusive Education in the Mediterranean, funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED program. The project is led at An-Najah by Dr. Ali Abdelhamid, Project Coordinator and Director of the Urban and Regional Planning Unit at the University.

The project focuses on harnessing cultural heritage as a key driver for sustainable development and cross-cultural cooperation, by enhancing teaching and learning systems across six partner countries: Italy, Spain, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine.

DIEM aims to strengthen inclusive education, empower marginalized groups, and build integrated knowledge bridges among countries of the Mediterranean basin.

Dr. Abdelhamid emphasized that An-Najah’s participation in the project represents an important opportunity to advance educational inclusivity and connect cultural heritage with innovation and development prospects. He noted that the University will work proactively with its international partners to achieve the project’s objectives.

An-Najah University extends its appreciation to the European Union and all project partners for their valuable contributions and continued support, reaffirming its readiness to move forward with this promising initiative.

The University will continue to share updates on upcoming workshops, educational tools, training programs, and events planned within the framework of the DIEM project.
