An-Najah National University Signs MOU with the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs
An-Najah National University, represented by its President, Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, represented by Minister Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Negm.
The MOU was signed on Thursday, May 8, 2025, and aims to enhance joint cooperation in religious and academic fields.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Jamal Kielani, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, and His Excellency Mr. Ghassan Daghlas, Governor of Nablus.
The MOU aims to strengthen collaboration in academic, scientific, religious, and media fields through workshops, conferences, and exchange of expertise. It also supports specialized research in endowments and Islamic holy sites, training programs for imams and preachers, student engagement in mosque-based activities, and joint efforts in Quranic competitions, publishing, and investment in endowed lands.
Prof. Zaid emphasized the University’s commitment to community partnerships and preserving religious and national identity. Prof. Negm praised An-Najah’s pioneering role in promoting religious values and national identity through its academic and community programs.
This agreement reflects the University’s ongoing mission to integrate academic and societal roles in service of Palestinian causes.
