Nablus Municipality Delegation Visits An-Najah University to Strengthen Cooperation
A delegation from Nablus Municipality, led by Dr. Husam Shakhshir, Mayor of Nablus, and Deputy Dr. Zahra Alwawi, Deputy Mayor of Nablus, along with members of the Municipal Council and staff, visited An-Najah National University. The delegation met with H.E. Prof. Rami Hamdallah, Vice Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees and Chairman of An-Najah National University Hospital Board, in the presence of Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, President of An-Najah National University; Dr. Abdulsalam Alkaiyat, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Rashid Al-Kukhun, Financial Director; and Mr. Ahmad Al-Sarghali, Public Relations and Marketing Communications Advisor to the University President.
The visit focused on enhancing collaboration between the University and the Municipality, supporting the national and humanitarian role of the University Hospital, and exploring new avenues for community-based academic and developmental partnerships.
Prof. Hamdallah praised the Municipality’s efforts and highlighted the University’s global academic achievements. Dr. Shakhshir expressed pride in the University’s leadership and stressed the importance of continued cooperation in the health and education sectors.
Dr. Shakhshir also expressed his deep appreciation for the pioneering role of An-Najah University and its hospital, emphasizing that the University stands as a scientific and medical beacon in Palestine. He underscored the importance of continuing this cooperation to support the health and education sectors in the Nablus Governorate.
