Students trained about (Utilizing Drama in Education)




The Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training concluded a workshop about (utilizing drama in education). The workshop introduced the importance of applying drama in education, and using theatre and story in simplifying the educational curriculum to make it more attractive and interactive.
The workshop was presented by Wasim Al-Kurdi; Director of the Al Qattan Center for Educational Research and Development. Al-Kurdi provided interactive activities during the workshop to enable participants to apply different drama contexts in the educational process. The trainer introduced different drama types including: the formation drama that focuses on the aspirations and dreams of students through a holistic humanitarian framework, and the expert cloak’s drama, which engages students within the educational process through their imagination.
This workshop aimed to improve the performance of teachers and enrich their skills with the latest techniques and tools used in the educational process. In addition, it aimed to raise their professional level and qualify them for the educational labour market locally and regionally, and increase the culture of applying drama in the educational learning process to make it more active and interesting for students.
This workshop was attended by Dr. Saida Affouneh; Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training, Dr. Suheil Salha, An-Najah Child Institute, and graduate PhD students.
