An-Najah professors attend the HERA1 end of project dissemination meeting in London

On 13th June 2019 Dr. Amira Shaheen and Dr. Abdulsalam Alkhayyat attended the HERA1; "Health Care Response to Abuse and Violence" end of project dissemination meeting, that was held to announce the results in London.
It is worth mentioning that HERA1 was a collaborative project between An-Najah National University, Sao Paulo University/Brazil, University of Bristol/UK, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine/UK, and WHO/ Geneva.
This was a two years project funded by MRC; "Medical Research Unit/UK". Dr. Shaheen as well as Dr. Alkhayyat presented the Palestinian results under the title; "Researching gender-based violence in a politically unstable setting: The Palestinian Case".
The meeting was attended by his excellency the Palestinian delegate to the UK; Dr. Hussam Zomlot, who in turns greeted the Palestinian team and the An-Najah National University emphasizing at the importance of having such collaboration between Palestinian universities and the international ones.
On 12thJune 2019, Dr. Shaheen and Dr. Alkhayyat joined their counter partner in the UK and presented on; "Gender based violence research in the occupied Palestinian territories: Priority, challenges, and obstacles". This was at the UK Domestic Violence and Health Research Forum.
On 11th June 2019, Dr. Shaheen and Dr. AlKhayyat visited the University of Bristol and were hosted by the Center on Population Health to present on; "A primary health care response to gender-based violence in Palestine: Findings from the HERA pilot". In addition to our collaborators in Bristol, the meeting was attended by Prof. Saadeh; Prof. of Cardiac physiology at the University of Bristol.
