Establishing a steering committee for the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teachers' Training

The Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teachers' Training formed a steering committee, which included a group of experts from the public and private sectors, in addition to the membership of all Deans of the Faculties of Education from universities.
This steering committee conducted its first meeting in the office of Dr. Maher Al-Natsheh, Acting President of the University, who welcomed the attendees on behalf of An-Najah National University. He pointed out the importance of establishing a coordinating body between the university and the community, as there is a strong linkage between the faculties of educational sciences in providing the ministry of education with qualified teachers in their fields.
Dr. Saidah Afouneh, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teachers' talked about the goals of establishing this committee. She noted that this consultative body will contribute to developing a clear educational vision for all faculties of education through joint efforts. This committee is expected to improve the outputs of the faculties of education and create joint initiatives.
The participants highlighted the importance of this coordinating body, and underlined its main tasks, as there is a need to identify the topics to be discussed and addressed. In addition, the participants agreed to start preparing for the first conference of Faculties of Educational Sciences and Teacher s' Education.
The meeting ended with an agreement on the next session of the committee, and the necessity to invite representatives from faculty lecturers and students as well.
