An-Najah Receives a Delegation from the Canada Arabic Chamber of Commerce

On Thursday, June 28, 2018, An-Najah National University received a delegation from the Canada Arabic Chamber of Commerce headed by the Office Chairman, Mr. Sam Bouji.
The visit aimed at learning about An-Najah capabilities and achievements and discussing possible means of mutual cooperation regarding student exchange programmes between An-Najah students and the Canadian students of Palestinian origins.
The delegation was received by Dr. Nidal Dwikat, Deputy President for Planning, Development and Quality Assurance; Professor Jalal Dabeek, Scientific Centres Coordinator and Vice President of the National Authority for Disaster Risk Reduction; Dr. Hani Farran, Director of Interior Design and TV Decoration Centre; Dr. Abdel Fattah Al-Mallah, Director of Water and Environmental Studies Institute (WESI); Dr. Amjad Ezz Eddin, Director of Analysis, Poison Control and Calibration Center (APCC); Mr. Bilal Salameh, Director of Community Service Centre and the PR staff at An-Najah.
The delegation was introduced to An-Najah's history, academic programmes, scientific centres, campuses, faculties, institutes and academic and research achievements through a short documentary film.
Dr. Dwikat, as well as Prof. Dabeek talked in details about the services An-Najah offers to the Palestinian community, An-Najah National University Hospital, the international cooperation agreements An-Najah has with several European and American universities and the international accreditation An-Najah obtained, most important of which is the ABET accreditation of 9 engineering programmes. They also talked about the obstacles that face higher education in Palestine and the difficulties to obtain international patents.
The delegation in turn expressed their pride of An-Najah's distinguished achievements in different fields. They mentioned that their visit aims to build bridges between the Palestinian youth inside Palestine and in Canada and exchange knowledge and cultures. They also stressed the importance of offering sustainable exchange programmes and proposed signing an initial agreement to start the exchange process as soon as possible.
Both Dr. Dwikat and Prof. Dabeek welcomed the proposal as it is a pillar of the University's vision.
