On Thursday, May 11th, 2017, An-Najah’s Scouts Group participated in the World Scout Education Congress in Kandersteg, Switzerland.

The event was over 5 days from May 11th- May 15th, 2017.

The congress focused on the core business of scouting and looked at what needs to happen in the areas of Youth Programme and Adult Resources, in order to prepare for today’s changing world. It also helped shape the focus for Educational Methods around the world from 2017 onwards.

The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Ahmad Al-Hendawi, Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) who was appointed recently by the organization.

The Palestinian exhibition included Palestinian popular cuisine and photos of the scout’s activities, Palestine’s holy sites and Palestinian costumes.

It is worth mentioning that An-Najah participated in other Arab and international scout conferences in Poland, Morocco, Oman and Estonia.

Notes:

Mr. Al-Hendawi (born in Jordan in 1984) currently serves as the Secretary-General of the WOSM, the youngest in the history of the organization. Prior to this, he was the first-ever United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in 2013 as the youngest senior official in the history of the United Nations.
