Industry

There is an intimate relation between our department and external society. Our graduation projects serve directly the interests of local industry such as waste water treatment, extraction of essential oils, and removal of air pollution, industrial lubricants, and microcapsules and so on. Our staff is active in advising and consulting the chemical industry. One of department staff is the chief of industry committee that have MOU with PADICO group. We try to have the same with different pharmaceutical companies in Ramallah. Some of our graduates have their own industrial businesses.

Teaching and Learning

The traditional teaching is applied for basic courses where white board is used for derivations of mathematical equations and scientific relations. The LCD is used frequently in teaching, which is helpful to show figures, images, tables, and flowcharts. Video clips are demonstrated in many courses to show manufacturing processes or safety applications. Projects are offered for higher classes. Lot of modern laboratories and equipment are available to our students. Software are used as well. Hysys is used for equipment design and for plant design.

Coursework and Assessment

The assessment is based on the evaluation of first, second and final exams. The daily activities such as quizzes, HWs,  projects, presentations and /or exhibitions are evaluated.
