Facilities

Students of this program are able to use computer lab with different software such as: SAP 2000, Revit, Autocad, and Design Builder. They are also able to use all the laboratories of the Building Engineering department such as soil mechanics lab, fluid mechanics and thermal sciences lab, construction materials lab and surveying lab, which are common with the Civil Engineering department.

Industry

The department formed an Industrial Advisory Board as a collaboration with the industry to assist in modifying program objectives to better satisfy market needs.Industrial Advisory Board is a direct communication tool with the industrial bodies including:

• Engineering Association and its affiliated organizations such the Higher Palestinian Green Building Council.
• None Governmental Organizations such as CHF.
• The private sector such as Engineering, Architectural and Construction firms.
   

Teaching and Learning

Teaching and learning methods adopted in this program include lectures, seminars, electronic teaching methods, course projects, student presentations, lab work, homework, site visits, and illustrations through small-scale models and videos. All of these include modern technology facilities such as modern software, power point, videos and small-scale models.

Coursework and Assessment

Assessment criteria include: Exams (first, second and final), course projects by using modern software, lab reports, homework and presentations.
